I've had my Axolotl for almost a year now and he hasn't grown at all.

He's around 4.5 inches from head to tail and lives in a filtered 20 gallon long.

He eats a variety of things like bloodworms, black worms, and RARELY he gets half of a waxworm.

Could he be a mini? He has normal body shape so I dont think he's a dwarf.

Hello everyone,

I really like axolotls a lot but I never had one. I want to buy one but I have some concerns. I will be happy if you can answer my questions.

Firstly, what they need in their tanks for optimal conditions ?

How can I feed them. Is it easy to find necessary food ?

Are they social animals or are they agressive to each other? Should I have one at a time or have them together ?

What is their life expectancy?

And lastly what kind of care do they need other than food and tank ?

I really appreciate your answers :)

Hi, im a new axolotl owner and im starting to put decorations in my tank. I am getting some pvc pipes tomorrow but im thinking about plants as well. I want a plant that is low maintenance (if possible) and can survive in low light levels (so axolotl isnt stressed). If you know any please name them and where to get them. Thank you

Hey, im thinking about buying a PVC pipe for my axolotl to hide in. When I got it, the people said it was an adult and it looks to be around 8 inches long. What would be a good diameter to get for him?

Hey just a general question on axolotl care, is feeding your axolotl on a daily basis ideal? Lunas around 10 months old and i tend to feed her a whole worm once every 2-3 days as i dont want to give her any health issues caused by overfeeding. So should i try to feed her a whole worm every couple days or small pieces of worms every day?
