Saw this guy @ LFS. I'm pretty sure it's a torch coral?

Newbie here! Went to my LFS and asked a million questions. Left with a 10 gallon cube. Excited to get started.

Plant for kelp aquarium.

If you want to put some kelp in you aquarium, but all of it is to large, then let me save you some time.

After days (1 hour 30 mins on wiki) of looking at kelp species, might I introduce you to Ecklonia Radiata. It may be hard to come by, but it gives off a partial kelp vibe and doesn't grow that big.

However there is no height that I could find, looking through google images got me to >30 cm, or about a foot. Hope this helps for people looking for that.

Edit: Max height is 2m. So trimming every month should do the trick

Excellent FOWLR display at LFS

SIP my dear Umi... you were a wonderful companion, my first saltwater fish, I loved you... Finding her having leapt somehow from a small uncovered corner of the tank, after almost 2 years of living in the tank/set up was devastating... and a tragic lesson.

Questions about Aiptasia and new tank transfer suggestions

Posted: 23 Feb 2020 12:29 AM PST

Finally moving to new place and will be getting a bigger tank! My current tank has an Aiptasia problem and I've gotten tired of fighting them with Aiptasia X etc. seems they just multiply the next week.

Wanted to ask everyone's opinion about moving to the new tank. I can have both running (old place will just be vacant with old tank) and transfer things once the new tank is cycled. If I want to move some of my rock, some of which is encrusted with my zoas and GSP, how do i prevent transfer of the Aiptasia? Manually scrub the rocks and visually make sure there doesn't seem to be any Aiptasia? These things are just tenacious buggers that keep growing like crazy. My peppermint shrimp won't touch them (and it looks like the right type). I'm almost tempted to just say to hell with it and give those rocks to my LFS (but he might not want them)
