Fish growing really fast! As you can see in the picture, I have three gorgeous fishies, but a problem is arising. The black one seems to be growing twice as fast as the comet and the oranda, and had begun to bully the other two and steal their food. Anything I can do as a fish mommy?

Poor buddy that I got a month ago seems like he’s dying. His tank mates find, but for the past three days he’s been moving less and less and now he won’t eat this morning.

Hello Goldie friends, please by nice. I know I made a mistake, and I assure you we have the intentions of purchasing another large tank but trying to look second hand and waiting for that deal of a lifetime just hasn't panned out for us. I need advice on whom to downsize. I will describe my setup and it's stocking and hope you guys can aid me in deciding what should go and what should stay. Tank: 120 gal Filtration : Fluval FX6 Aeration: 2 bubbles wands, three 6"discus aerators Maintenance routine: weekly 1/3 water changes. Monthly filter cleanings. I use water conditioner and stress coat, add the recommended maintenance amount of beneficial bacteria, maintain salt at 3 ppt with pond salt, I also check my parameters with API freshwater test kit every 3-7 days and I have not had any issues since the tank cycled Feeding: I feed a variety of foods bc of the various types of fish. So everything from koi pellets for the goldies to shrimp and algae wafers for the bottom. Also feed various fresh foods such as sweet peas, cucumber, squash, kale, seaweed etc Stocking: 3 long fin comets ( range from 4"-6") 2 shubunkin ( one 2", one 5") 3 Sarasa comets ( 3"-6") 2 fantail goldies ( both around 4") 1 black moor 3 dojo loaches ( 4"-6") 3 yo-yo loaches ( 1.5"-2") 3 Cory cats ( all full grown, came with the tank) 1 rhino pleco ( 6") I have not had any illnesses(yet), and every fish I purchased went through a 14 day quarantine with Microbe-lift Artemiss. I know this level can not be maintained as they all grow and we have decided not to put the comets back into the koi pond. I do not think we will find another tank that matches our desire before things become problematic. I will say that one of the shubunkin is definitely staying bc it is slightly deformed and I know I will always love and care for it. Thanks in advance for constructive criticism/advice.

Goldfish companions?

Posted: 22 Feb 2020 10:08 AM PST

I used to run fish tanks for years, I've been thinking about restarting with a big setup. My favorite fish by far are gold fish. I just know they need a big space and a lot of work. In your all's experience, can you keep gold fish with "companions?" Ive been doing some research about fish that get along with them but I wanted to ask people firsthand what their experience is? I wouldn't mind to keep a couple of them by themselves in a 50-60 gallon if necessary though. I just want to have goldfish
