Posted: 15 Feb 2020 08:37 PM PST I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with getting a permit in Maine to keep an axolotl? I'm not sure how difficult it would be (or if it's possible) and there doesn't seem to be much information about it online. [link] [comments]

What to expect when introducing two adults? Posted: 15 Feb 2020 02:55 PM PST Hello! We've had two axolotls, both male, for a few years now. Each one had their own tank but recently we finally combined the tanks into one big 55 gallon tank with driftwood, hideaways, plants, it's just so awesome. So we introduced them, and they'd been facing each other in their other tanks for literally since they were babies so it was mostly scent we wanted them to get used to. So we finally let them meet. At first they didn't care but eventually when they realized the other was there, they did a lot of interacting and crawling on each other. No real chasing that looked aggressive, and no snapping. In fact I didn't see either mouth open once. I'm just a little surprised at just how active they became when they realized the other was there? Now then. What should I be expecting? Am I paranoid or do I need to separate them again? The activity literally just looked like they were crawling on top of each other and following the leader occasionally. Is this normal? What does an axolotl fight even look like anyway? Please be gentle, I should've asked this yesterday. Don't worry, no one is hurt! I've just never had two in one tank before and I'm being a worry wart. [link] [comments]
