Amazing what a furan 2 treatment can do! Top was 2 weeks ago, bottom is today.

I woke up today to check on my Axolotl, to find that their belly had grown significantly overnight. I don’t have anything in the tank that can cause impaction. Yesterday I changed their food to a pellet, and probably accidentally over fed them. Does anyone have any advice?

So my friend’s cat likes to drink the tank water... and the axies always get intrigued when she dips her toes in to lick the water! (The cat has never bothered them, and they don’t seem to care for her either!)

I'm new to this group and to owning an Axolotl. I've had Axol about 2 months and I already want another one. I love hims.

Axolotl Doesn't move hind leg

Axolotl Doesn't move hind leg

This is less of a worry or concern and more of a curiosity since he moves around fine and doesn't seem to be in pain. My axol Skittles doesn't use his left hind leg at all. It tends to float up, pointing up and he doesn't curl his toes when he walks. Its also a little bit shorter and he can't bend it.

My thought are either 1. He simply has a deformed leg or 2. He's in the process of regrowing his leg and I just don't know about it since I've only had him for a couple weeks.

What do you guys think?

How often should I do a water change?

Posted: 14 Feb 2020 07:27 AM PST

The resources I found online said a 20% water change every other week. The guy I bought my axolotl from said once the filter gets dirty. I am confused.

Best way to lower tank temperature? Sadly its summer where i live and 27C days. Today my tank was 27C so i used ice packs and a fan but its still only 25C. i do not want to buy a chiller to much $$$ and too noisey.. what is there maximum temperature? i’ve heard 24C is but idk...
