My axolotl is pointing downwards all the time?

Hi all, my axolotl is quite old, I'd say over 10 years, and for the past few days it's pointing head first downwards in it's tank all the time.

I've tried a water change and dropping the level slightly, it still wants to point downwards. The other day it was swimming a little with bubbles popping from it, I wonder if it's got trapped gas or something?

My tank crashed and so I'm gonna have to tub him until I can get the ammonia back down to zero just to use as a temp tank.

What size tub should I get and how exactly does tubing work?

Write now I am currently holding my axy In a Tupperware container that is longer than the length of his body. But until I can get to the store later today what size should I buy and other things I should know about tubing?

She keeps swimming up to the surface, which seems pretty normal but when she comes back down, she opens her mouth and little air bubbles come out. I'm thinking that its her way of getting attention?
