Aquatic Koi Pros & Cons to glass front

I am planning my Koi pond in the spring and trying to create the blueprints. I plan on having 1' dug then 2' above ground(resulting in 3" deep) pond made with flagstone and pond liner. I have seen multiple above ground ponds with a glass front on them. Anybody have any pros and cons to adding the glass to it or not? I have a sister that can get me a 2'x5'x10mm pane for basically free.
