My friend Robert made me this tank. It has some scuzz in the glass but its so cool. No filter. No heater. No fish. Just plants.

What is this thing? I’ve searched and searched and I don’t know what it is! They are tiny!! Bout as big as my pinky nail. They can scrunch up or get really long. I don’t have a LOT of them but I would really like to know what they are. Any help is appreciated!

Looking for a plant that smells good, can have submerged roots but grows above water. Any suggestions?

Posted: 19 Jan 2020 05:36 PM PST

Also what are these kinds of plants called in general?

Thanks for your help!

What kind of algae is this and how would I go about removing it? It’s started growing on a few of my plants.

I want a planted tank but I've killed most plants I've ever had.

Hi, I'm new to all this! So I got a 125 gallon tank recently, and I'm insisting on having it planted. Buuuut I have no idea what I'm doing so I could use some suggestions. I have a mix of about 80 lbs of eco complete, 20 lbs of some random other brand of plant substrate, and then 80 lbs of black aquarium sand on top just to make it look pretty. The substrate is about 2 inches thick, and I bought root tabs and have seachem flourish. I don't particularly want to do co2, mainly because I'm just confused about everything

The stocking of the tank is going to be 1 nearly full grown chocolate cichlid, 2 hoplo cats, 1 Raphael cat and probably a turquoise severum. I have some driftwood in the tank already, and I bought a variety of plants (mostly some sword plants, crypts, dwarf sagg, and java and flame moss, jungle val) my lighting is the current usa satellite pro. I have 2 36" fixtures. They're set for about 7 hours a day of lighting. Is there anything that stands out glaringly to change up? I've already somehow turned some java moss yellow so I'm worried all this money I've invested is going to get killed off haha. I know the chocolate will probably dig around a little, but I think he'll like having some nice plants and something to hide behind.
