Hey guys i had crayfish for over a year now i was thinking about putting some rocks and making some kind of land for the crayfish to climb outside the water. Is it going to work or it's a bad idea ?

IS Procambarus easier to breed than Cherax ?

Posted: 17 Jan 2020 12:28 PM PST

Hello, i have 2 pairs of big cherax quadricarinatus, i am trying to breed them for a few months already, sadly i am still failing to make them do the thing, my water parameters are very good, i feed them with crab cuisine, meanwhile i watched tons of videos on YouTube with Procambarus cray mating instantly after you put them in the same tank.! 20 Seconds and they are already on it.!

Can you help me? Looking for advice

I want to keep crayfish as a pet and i looking for the biggest species avaible in the market for aquarium keeping. I have some experience with aquarium's i had several tank setups through the years. At the moment i have a (700L=185gallons) sweetwater tank with full of fishes and a blue "Procambarus alleni". The biggest species what i found in the market for aquarium keeping was the "chearax destructor". I want to keep it alone in a separate tank and i want a male, because as far as my research go they are bigger with bigger claws. I live in Europe, Hungary, any other suggestions?
