Should I be worried about these super tiny organisms in Toothless's aquarium? They're about a centimeter long.

Okay, so this white fluff comes and goes. I have no clue what it is. Don’t bother my dude. But it is super strange.

Is this set up good for my axolotl? Its a 20 gallon tank and I have polished river rocks at the bottom of the tank and the ZooMed Turtle Clean Filter 318 as the fitler for the tank

Is this fungus or filament damage? She had a really bad final infection recently, so it's possible that it's filament damage, and I'm doing everything in my power to prevent another one, but what do you guys think? (Light on only for this picture of course)

female axolotl has dark spots on lower half of body

Posted: 30 Dec 2019 09:15 PM PST

hi! ive been keeping axolotls for about 5 years know and consider myself to be fairly knowledgable about their husbandry. maya, my first axolotl, is a blue gilled leucistic and about 5 years old. today during feeding, i noticed she had these dark spots on her body. im concerned it might be some form of internal bleeding. shes eating fine and is still very active, her gills are pigmented, and shes not showing any external forms of stress. im hoping its just some form of new pigmentation. im going to call the exotic vet first thing in the morning, but if anyone has some information, that would be great. heres a photo of what im talking about.

parameters: ph 7.5 - 8 , nitrates 10ppm , nitrates 0ppm , ammonia 0ppm

substrate: slate tiles

the tank is fully cycled and gets bi monthly 50% water changes, and a full water change every 3-4 months

shes fed mainly nightcrawlers and every now and then she gets some raw shrimp as a treat

Adult axolotl wont eat

Posted: 30 Dec 2019 03:14 PM PST

my adult axolotl hasnt eaten in a week. usually i feed him a whole nightcrawler every other night but for the past months hes been off and on eating, usually not eating from 3-4 days. but he hasnt eaten in a week. when i try to feed him he either ignores the worm, or will grab the worm and proceed to eat it almost all the way but then spit it back up, and then he repeats until i have to take it because the worm is dead and dissolving. he is is good shape, looks very healthy and fit

Plants & Fertz & Axolotls

Posted: 30 Dec 2019 03:11 PM PST

I'm setting up a 40 gallon tank and I wish it to be the home of 1 or 2 axolotls when finished. I would like this to be a planted tank as well.

I know planted tanks are relatively common with axolotls I just don't know how people have success with the plants. Being axolotls are amphibians and sensitive to certain things in aquarium fertz.

How do you all keep your plants? Do you just not fertilize them? If you do use fertz and had success with them, what kind?

Have I done something wrong?

Recently placed sand in my axolotls tank, they just don't seem to want to touch it. they have started staying on top of everything but the floor. Have I done something wrong or am I over thinking it?
