Will my goldfish keep growing?

Posted: 30 Nov 2019 09:09 PM PST

My ranchu is approximately 3 inches from his nose to the end of his tail, however he doesn't have much of a wen at all- I believe i've had him with me for almost a year now. He lives in a 55 gallon tank with a lionhead of similar size and a trio of young fathead minnows... will he get any bigger?

More Fish Friends?

Hello all!

After a long overdue move to a 60gal tank, I'm wondering if I should get my goldfish a couple of tank mates. He's around 6 years old, and 6-8 inches. Is 60gal large enough to support a large common/comet plus 1-2 smaller ones?

Thanks!

My buddy is bleeding in his eye, progressively over the last couple weeks.. any thoughts what might cause this or how to cure it (if possible)?

Food that you shouldn't feed your goldfish

Posted: 30 Nov 2019 10:35 AM PST

Hi, I wanted to feed my goldfish some fruit and vegetables. I've found many lists on what vegetables goldfish can eat, but is there any food goldfish shouldn't feast on? I think that it would be a good idea to use this post to write down some foods that goldfish should absolutely never even taste, perhaps some bad experience and some explaination too. For example I know some people that feed their goldfish ham or eggs, but I don't know if this food is fine and at which point it becomes dangerous.

Best way to clean aquarium sand?

Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:06 AM PST

I've recently been thinking of getting some sand to replace the gravel in my gokdfish's aquarium, as I was told it is a lot safer and cleaner. What's the best way to clean the debris from it during a weekly water change without sucking a lot of it up the siphon?
