is it worth cutting my water level to allow space for my crawfish to climb out of the water?

When I was a kid around 10 my school had a science unit about crayfish. At the end we were offered the opportunity to adopt a crayfish. I chose the largest one in the class which I had bonded with (she was at my study group's table) . I named her Pincerella after my favorite Disney movie. She was a red crayfish, specifically a Louisiana crawdad. Within a month or two there were eggs on her swimmerets. (She ate most of her babies). Only a couple babies survived and my family gave them away to friends. She lived for 3-4 more years before passing away. If I can find a picture (this was during digital but before the cloud) I will post. I had no idea crayfish came in so many colors and varieties before. Keep up the good work and maybe some day I will be a crayfish mom again! (But MUCH better informed.)

Crayfish Tail Curled Under

Posted: 30 Nov 2019 05:46 PM PST

I am wondering if there is any behavioral significance in my crayfish having her tailed curled and tucked under nearly always. We have had her for almost a year, and the consistency of it seems new. She has been less active and may be approaching another molt. Just mostly curious if the curled tailed indicates sickness or stress. Thank you!

Crayfish moulting question

I have two red swamp crayfish, one male and one female. If one of them were to moult, should I remove one of them to avoid the death of one crayfish or no?
