- From my snails to yours we wish you a happy Thanksgiving!
- ramshorn snails mysteriously dying
- Traveling with snails
- My beautiful Malaysian trumpets. Didn't realize they could get almost an inch.
- Isolated some baby mystery snails that I didn’t want in my tank; these small sacs are all over the place. You can barely see it to the right side of that barrel standing upright. Are these eggs?

| ramshorn snails mysteriously dying Posted: 28 Nov 2019 08:30 PM PST all of my ramshorn snails just died in the span of a day or two. they were previously doing fine and reproducing, but every single one in the tank is dead and i don't know what happened. nothing else is in the tank right now. the only thing that i added was some seachem brand plant glue that i used a couple days ago, but its supposed to be safe and i can't find anyone who says it hurt their snails. the water is really hard and alkaline and their shells look fine, so its not a calcium deficiency and they had plenty of food. the only thing i've added to the tank is prime and seachem flourish. edit: sorry, i meant no livestock other than the snails. there is driftwood and live plants, the substrate is sand. | Posted: 28 Nov 2019 09:52 PM PST I'm going to be taking a train home for winter break in a couple weeks. Winter breaks lasts a little over 3 weeks. Everyone I know in the city that my school is in is going home for break so there isn't anyone who can stop by and feed my snails and do a partial water change. After speaking to several representatives of the train company it's still unclear whether or not snails are allowed onboard. Because of this I need to keep them hidden for the duration of the trip (2.5-3 hours). I have 3 nerites and 4 mysteries. My carry-on will be a duffel bag for clothes and a backpack for snail supplies. I'm taking a couple of temporary tanks along with filters and heaters and some decorations/plants and water conditioner. Does anyone have experience traveling with snails in a discreet way? Portable heaters? Should I put them in a bag or a container? I'm also worried about an air source for them. I don't want water to soak everything but they also need access to air.
