What might have killed my mystery snail?

So, a few weeks ago my mystery snail died. He was alive and well for a few weeks in a 5.5gallon with some shrimp and two guppies, but a few days after I moved him to the ten gallon he died.

The only others in the ten gallon were three cory catfish, and they're doing great, so I imagine it wasn't water conditions.

From what I observed was that he was fine and then he was dead. I tried moving him around but no change. Got the dead mollusk smell a few days later and I confirmed he was dead.

I don't know what could have killed him where it was one second fine, next not.
