- Short lil Gif of Nebulas new friend , Cosmo. I'm not sure on the sexes of either of my lotls I think Nebby ( white ) is a girl and so do a few others on here , but I think they are both a bit young to know for sure ! All I know is that they are getting along well and Cosmo is liking his home.

Posted: 22 Oct 2019 12:56 PM PDT Anyone recommend this or nah? I have an issue where my tap water is quite alkaline (8+), but within a day or two the water turns acidic, presumably from the tannins in my driftwood. Axi is tubbed currently- still trying to cycle. [link] [comments]

Posted: 22 Oct 2019 05:44 AM PDT I know this must get covered a lot but I set up a 20g tank for an axolotl a while back and before I bought one I wanted to make sure I was capable of keeping the temperature down to 64 degrees at most. Long story short I could not. I was doing frozen water bottles, ice cubes of conditioned water, and a fan and the lowest I could get it was 66 but I couldn't keep it there bc over night (despite the fan and water bottles) it would go back up to 68-70. My dad said he'll refuse to lower the temperature of the house for that tank so I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and getting a chiller. Any good ones y'all know of that are cheap? The one I was looking at on amazon was about $150 I think I'll go with that unless there are better options. Also if there's anything else that I didn't try that helps keep water temp. down I'm down for any tips. Thanks guys. [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Oct 2019 08:05 PM PDT I was gifted an axie and am thus attempting to cycle my tank with axie in it. It has been 8 weeks of daily 25% water changes with the Prime and i am still getting a reading of 0-.25 ammonia 0 nitrites and only 5 nitrates. Am i doing something wrong? [link] [comments]
Posted: 21 Oct 2019 06:44 PM PDT How do you keep your live plants from not making a mess in the tank I think the problem was I just got the wrong ones , right now I only have a potted java fern but before I had some long grassy plants. ( Can't remember the name . ( http://imgur.com/gallery/lFrFpDb ) the two on the right right side caused the most mess , and then the long grass , my axie loved laying in the grass but it died kinda fast. [link] [comments]
