New shrimp in the tank

Posted: 19 Sep 2019 09:25 PM PDT

Hey guys. First time shrimp mum. I just bought these off a private breeder who said they’re ‘fire red cherry shrimp’ juvenile. Do they look to be that grade? Sorry best pic I could get.

Tie Interceptor having a few “bugs”

I don’t really know what is wrong with this fella. I think he had a failed molt maybe. I was sure he would die within a day or so of finding him like this but he’s almost on to his third week of living like this. I am dumbfounded.

High pH, soft water shrimp?

Posted: 19 Sep 2019 09:25 PM PDT

Howdy y'all. I live on a ranch out in East Texas with our own well to the aquifer. The water tests around 8.2 out of tap, and less than two degrees KH and GH. I currently am using Seachem Equilibrium to keep my cherries alive, and about four of the original twenty have survived. However, this has me considering a shrimp that would love my water parameters. I found out about Sulawesi, and that seems the best, yet I'm still unsure.

Appreciate any help!

Hey cutie pie, whatcha got there? ☺️

I got some cherry shrimp about two weeks ago and I noticed a couple of them have this thing they call ‘white ring of death’ (?)

Posted: 20 Sep 2019 01:05 AM PDT

Is there anything I can do for them? I put in a calcium block as soon as got them, and stopped doing any large water changes which I didn't realise was a big no no. One of the others molted successfully a couple of days ago so I think maybe those ones with the white rings were like that when I got them. I hope.

Hi hi! I'm a scrimp enthusiast from Utah and I just happened to stumble upon this little patch of heaven from r/XWingTMG.

I have an ADA cube tank filled with Golden Bees (and I'm pretty certain some Red Bolt descendants because a few are PINK) that has been running a solid 4 years with only some minor hiccups.

Glad to have someplace to gush about my babies!
