I've been really struggling with my mental health recently, so my godmother knitted me a shrimp to make me feel better! Looking for name suggestions!

Got this monster months ago when he was the size of an Amano. Now he's over an inch long and rivals my young bamboo shrimp for size. What is he?

Of all of my shrimp, this guy is one of the coolest. The pic doesn’t do it justice. It’s a Golden Bee, but aren’t they supposed to be white with a golden glow, instead of super orange/peach colored?

Non-cross breeding with Cherry Shrimp additions

Posted: 28 Sep 2019 01:48 AM PDT

I have some very dark coloured cherrry shrimp that are slowly growing in population.

I did have some amano shrimp as well but the batch I bought was well over 2 years old and have all died out.

I would like to get a contrasting color back in the tank with a different shrimp. The cherry shrimp colony I have not I think is probably all bread in my tank as I do not believe I have bought any in a few years now. Which also means these are a little more tolerant of the high summer temperatures. In summer with fans, the best I can reduce the temperature to is about 28-30 deg C during the peak weeks!

Is there another shrimp type I could put in that would not cross breed?

Hi, I'm new to shrimp keeping! So new, that my tank is still cycling and i was wondering how long after its cycled can i add shrimp? I keep seeing to add them to an established tank, but this is my first ever tank. Any help is much appreciated.

How obvious would it be if a dragonfly nymph was killing my shrimp

Posted: 27 Sep 2019 03:41 PM PDT

So about a week ago I noticed a young dragonfly nymph in my planted shrimp tank. I have absolutely no idea how it got there. I've boiled all my hardscape materials and had all my plants for 5 weeks as of last week (which means the egg(s) would have had to been laid the day my plants were shipped to me). I'm concerned that there might be more, ive scoured my tank for signs of another one (moved all my hard scape stuff and my plants aren't that dense yet). There are a few places I cannot see due to angles. So far I haven't noticed any shrimp missing although at this very moment I can't get eyes on all of them (but every time that happens I eventually see all of them). Also, I've kept the nymph in a cup with a bunch of my substrate and haven't seen any evidence it's capable of burrowing in it. Even still I'm worried.

I'm wondering the following:

Will a dragonfly nymph leave behind a noticeable carcass?

How long without casualties before it's safe to assume one isn't around?

How stressed will my shrimp look if there is one?
