My new goldfish
Got 14 rescue fish because the owner didn't want them anymore
Anybody know what he is? Got him at the store at a discount because he was “Deformed” he was in the Oranda, Lionhead tank? He does have a half double tail. 3points. He’s acclimating in this photo
What would cause such a red spot near the goldfish fin?

Need help switching to planted tank!

Currently I have a tank with 2 goldfish, some minnows and mystery snails that is just a gravel bottom with fake plants. I really want to switch it to planted as soon as possible. How long should I wait after putting substrate/real plants to put the fish back in? Should I use the same water that is already in the tank, or put completely new water in it? And should I use the same filter media that I have had in it for the past month and a half? I've watched a lot of helpful YouTube videos on setup but haven't gotten these answers. Also what is good substrate to use in a Goldfish tank? Was looking at the CaribSea eco-complete planted aquarium substrate but not sure if it's the best. Was hoping to be able to pick up something I could get from petsmart/petco as those are closest to me. Was also looking at the finnex stingray LED light but open to suggestions as I've never had a planted tank only fake plants Thank you!

Goldfish breeding question

I have a female calico goldfish that I inadvertently bred with an orange metallic goldfish. There are 3 offspring: 2 with a whitish pink coloring and 1 with dark grey metallic scales.

My 2 whitish pink fry look to have almost matte scales to me with very little coloring rather than "nacreous." Will they develop more color as they get older? I have a picture of one baby (about 2.5 months old) between the 2 parents that I will link in the comments

Oranda with torn tail

I have a young oranda(1 .5") goldfish that lives with another young(2") oranda and a young(1")Ryukin. Dustee(1.5) oranda has a small tear on the bottom half of one of the double tails. He swims fine. I was just wondering how I can heal it or if it will forever be their. Their in a 40 gallon breeder with sand on the bottom and a bubbler, theirs nothing sharp in the tank? The tear is very tiny and hardly noticeable. Will he be fine??
