URGENT (PLEASE HELP): My Axolotl survived a minnow attack and I'm trying to help him recover. I isolated him with some cattapa leaves. His gills are completely scabbed over, and he has other bite wounds over his body. He has been turning darker from low oxygen. How can I help him further?

Freshwater mussel/bivalves

Posted: 27 Sep 2019 06:24 AM PDT

Is it safe to put some filter feeders (bivalves) in my aquarium? I have an aquarium of 300L with 3 juvenile axolotls (+/- 7 cm) and I thought maybe the water quality could be kept better by having mussels filter the water.

Anyone that has experience or advise with keeping freshwater mussels or other filter feeders in an aquarium with axolotls?

Are Hyacith Pond Plants safe for axolotls? I got some for my lil lotl’s tank and was wondering if these were exactly a safe type of plant to put at the top of the tank. I only got 2 of them and the tank is a 29 gallon, so they shouldn’t be taking up too much space.

Selling and need advice

Hi Lotl friends! I'm moving and unfortunately cannot take my axie with me. He's a little over a year and a healthy boy. I don't want to sell to a pet store around here (Arizona) - I've no experience selling or shipping an axolotl, so advice appreciated.

Is my axolotl stressed? Been reading online and I can’t tell if this is what it means by curled forward? I mean they are slightly but is that not normal should they be curled backwards? Sorry I’m totally new with these babies.

Just got live plants for my axolotl and wondering if the fertilizer is safe for him.

I just purchased a java fern and a marimo moss ball from aquarium co-op along with the easy green all in one fertilizer. The bottle says it's fish, shrimp and snail safe. Will it also be safe for my axolotl? Just want to make sure before I put any in my tank.
