Does this look like a fungal infection to anyone? She’s always had a couple light patches on her head but I recently noticed her gills and I’m definitely worried about her. The pictures not great sorry. Ive been doing water changes and the parameters are fine. Thanks

So I have a question, is her tail okay like this or not? Also is it normal for them to just chill at the bottom kinda splayed out this this?

Got Kirby a feeding dish today she’s still trying to work it out I think, any suggestions?

Any idea why Tripod’s tank is so cloudy? It is a fully cycled tank and a water change didn’t seem to help. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Sand for axolotl?

Posted: 28 Sep 2019 07:18 PM PDT

So my axolotl is now 4-5 inches long, and I'm thinking it might be okay to give him some sand. He looks kind of frustrated not being able to grip the bottom, so I think he'd appreciate some kind of sand.

My questions are:

What is the best sand to have for axolotls that will be less likely to impact in his tummy if he tries to eat it?

How do I clean the tank with sand in it? We clean the tank about once a week with a suction tube to vacuum up his poops and little bits of leftover food. Will I have to change out the sand every week as well? Or is there someway to clean the tank and keep the sand in there?

Question about rocks!

Posted: 28 Sep 2019 06:00 PM PDT

Hi! Newbie here and in the process of getting my first tank set up before I get my lil one. So please go easy on me :)

This might be kind of a dumb question, but what kind of rocks can I put in the tank? I know gravel is a huge no, but I'm talking more about really big rocks for hiding purposes/protecting live plants/overall aesthetic. Can I use any large rock I'd find outside? Like the ones used for landscaping?

I know they can't have sharp edges. I've just been reading about what rocks are safe to use and I can't really find a clear answer.
