A few days ago I posted worrying that one of my snails might be eating the other, and you guys told me they were just mating. You were right!

Weird snail behavior?

I have a mystery snail in my 10g with a betta and a few pest snails that hitched a ride in on some plants. I moved everyone to the 10g a few weeks ago and since then my mystery snail has been in hiding.

Like. Constantly. For almost 3 weeks. He's not dead (unless I'm just a total idiot) he opens up, moves his little antennae feeler things around and then sucks back in. He'll lay on his back half open but when I pick him up he sucks tight back in. If I put him in a cup of tank water and dump food in he peeks out.... takes a nibble... then sucks back in.

I mentioned this to the lady at my local fish place and she told me "sometimes snails are just weird"

Like, he's not moving around the tank, if I flip him on his foot he flips back over on his back. I keep thinking he's dead and then he peeks out and ducks back in.

The betta isn't aggressive towards him, he'll be half open and the betta will swim by and they ignore each other. The betta and hitchhiker snails are doing fine, anyone have any clue what could be going on?

Mystery snails in the UK?

Just trying to choose the best snails to add to my tank, but I've read conflicting things about Mystery snails in the UK.
Can anyone confirm their legality to buy/sell in the UK?
