- A TINY JELLYFISH APPEARED IN MY TANK
- Kitty is fishing
- Woke up to this. All my fish died overnight. Still 4 fish missing in the rocks
- Can anyone help me ID these, they look like xenias. I asked the owner of the store but he said he wasn't sure, someone traded them to him.
- Does this look like my hammer coral is splitting? I’ve had it for a few months now and it’s growing fast with 6 or so heads popping out on the side. The past few days it will go from fully extended and then shrink like this for awhile and then fully extend.
- 6 month anniversary of my Reefer 170
- I went snorkeling in one of the biggest reef tanks last week...
- [DIY] Build is progressing.. One day it might even have corals and fish haha
- Anyone know anything about Palytoxins, should I be worried with this Zoa?
- Pico pico
- For a cheap alternative to RODI reservoirs, try this Rubbermaid commercial food storage container for sous vide. It’s clear, has volume labels, is food grade (obviously), only costs $30, holds 5.5 gal, and you can get the sous vide lid which has a hole in the side for your plumbing.
- My kids love hunting for the Blenny
- Is this ich?
- Anyone have a rimless tank in their room? Does it get salty or smell?
- Just wanted to share
- Adding dried-live rock question
- New 60 gal
- kalk questions
- Lighting help needed
- Anyone know why this thing would just start disintegrating? I've had my tank up for about a month and I'm not getting any algae blooms. Everything looks great and I just did a big water change. I don't have any testing kits right now as they got destroyed when I moved.
- Chalice Sweeper Tentacles [instagram vid]
- Powerhead speed for 55 gallon
- Does Chaetomorpha intake 50 % Nitrate and 50% Phospates? Or is the percentage level varies ? My reef does not produce as much phospates when compared to nitrates. Could this be a reason for chaetomorpha failure?
- Can anyone ID this awesome piece?

Anyone have a rimless tank in their room? Does it get salty or smell? Posted: 07 Aug 2019 07:41 PM PDT Hi guys, I currently am running a biocube 32g with the hood. It's been too hot recently , that my tanks are running 82F all the time. I turned my jaeger heater to the lowest setting and its still running high. I feel that I need to remove and let the hood off. I was thinking of getting an AI prime to light my tank. Currently running softies only with my current hood. My biggest concern is the evaporation. Top off I can handle, I'm more worried about the smell in my room. Any experience on this ? I lost my fire shrimp that I owned for over a year to this heat. God dammnit [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Aug 2019 11:49 AM PDT After battling with algae due to high 20+ ppm of nitrates due to my tap water(RO filter coming soon) I've bee dosing Nopox for about 2 weeks now and finally my nitrates test came to 5ppm of nitrates(still a couple of days to go and get that magical 2ppm reading. I just wanted to share the satisfaction and joy that seeing the progress of the tank gives me now that my zoas have started developing new polyps and my hammer seems happier and more colorful than ever before. I can pretty much say I shed a tear or two after getting those readings since it's the first time in years I've achieved such a low amount of nitrates from any tank I've ever had. Adding dried-live rock question Posted: 07 Aug 2019 06:53 PM PDT I took a 7lb piece of livestock out of my 30 because of some algae problems, and left It in a dark bucket for a week. Then, I pulled It out and bathed It in very hot water & scrubbed It with a toothbrush. I want to put the 7lb rock in my 75 gallon (with an additional 10 gallon sump, 80lbs live sand, already about 30-40lbs live rock minimum) should I be worried about the ammonia increase? Or anything like that? Or can I just toss It in. [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Aug 2019 06:23 PM PDT Hey guys, so I've been manually dosing my tank daily, I add maybe 1ML of 2 part everyday and that keeps my levels in check. I recently decided to dose kalk in my ATO and was wondering if someone with more experience with it could answer some questions. First, I added 1 teaspoon of kalk to 5 gallons of water, not wanting to saturate it too much, as my tanks demand isint crazy high. Is that too little for 5 gallons of ATO? My system is about 27 gallons. Second, is the water supposed to look so... gross? It's cloudy and has a slight film on the surface, but I can still see down to the bottom. And finally, will this crash my PH as much as I'm worried it will? My system evaporates maybe 1/4 or 1/5 a gallon everyday. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Aug 2019 06:00 PM PDT Apologies if this has been asked before, or is not in accordance to the rules but I was hoping to get some advice/help with lighting a new tank. I am planning to purchase a 6ft tank. Ideally 6ft wide x 45cm deep x 60cm high (or thereabouts depending on what I can find). I want to have a range of fish and corals (soft&hard) and want to get some real vibrancy in both fish and coral. I've had experience with a much smaller tank many years ago but not with coral so lighting is not something i'm at all familiar with. Is there a good guide which covers the basics that you can refer me to? Ive done some research but nothing really stands out as the go-to solution for me. A few questions I had:
Any help is much appreciated. I may have a few other questions so if anyone's happy to help please PM me and I may pick your brain Thanks in advance [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Aug 2019 05:01 PM PDT I've tried googling this but can't get a clear answer. I have two powerheads in my 55 gallon ~550gph. Specially, they're both at the top of the tank on opposite sides. One is in front, one is in back, so they sort of both contribue to a clockwise flow. One of the suction cups has stopped "suctioning" so I'd like to upgrade it to a magnet. The only one I can find for sale is ~800gph. Is that to much flow (especially when paired with the other, still suctioning, ~550gph)? What flow should I be targeting for my tank. If it's relevant I also have a sump set up adding flow/gas exchange to the tank. TIA! [link] [comments]
