OMG first ever babby sighting! (For scale- the thing wrapped around the cable is a normal sized twist tie)

It’s not much, they seem to enjoy it and I’m proud of it.

Unknown infestation of... something?

Posted: 30 Jul 2019 12:47 AM PDT

I have a 2x1.5x1.5 inch nanotank that houses two Hawaiian Red Shrimp (I live in Hawaii so heating isn't a problem). I did get this a very long time ago before I knew much about fish/shrimp keeping so I do understand that it's too small of an enclosure. Anyway, I have literally hundreds of unknown particles settled at the bottom of the little cube. They are all about a millimeter long, shaped like a grain of rice, are a translucent milky color, and do NOT move (that I've seen, anyway). When the water is disturbed, they float and cloud up the water. This is brackish water. Any ideas? Here's a picture

Day 4, What happened?

Posted: 29 Jul 2019 11:36 AM PDT

So Day 4 of my new shrimps, started with 10.

2 DOA on arrival, left me with 8. Each day they have been dieing. I'm now down to 3 Shrimp.

Whats happening?

  • I cycled the tank, with media from my 100L community tank.
  • I have done water tests, all good.
  • Only shrimp have been in the tank and are living in the tank.
  • Here is the tank: https://imgur.com/gallery/lCFXtSP
  • I have been feeding them Proshrimp food, tiny amounts every other day.

At this point im even scared to look at the tank, as I don't want to find anymore deaths :(.
