Posted: 09 Jun 2019 10:54 PM PDT So I understand that Neocaridina & Caridina won't interbreed, but what would happen if blue bolts & crystal reds are kept together? What would potential offspring look like? [link] [comments]

When RCS split their faces in half Posted: 09 Jun 2019 01:41 PM PDT Anyone observe this behavior? I have to say, it gives me the creeps. Everything else they do is cute and kind of bug-pokemon-esque but this particular thing they do where they split their front antaenaa/face in half and splay their mandibles out to the side for a second, is so strange looking. Anyone else observe this? My shrimp all seem happy and are breeding, and the one who does this the most is actually my 3rd-time-berried female. I've seen some fry doing it as well [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2019 07:58 PM PDT I've setup a 20 gal long tank for Sulawesi cardinals but I'm thinking about getting blue leg poso instead. I can't seem to find any information about them though. What's their care requirements? Where could I get some? I see skyfish Aqua has 50 for $240ish. Is that a good deal? Anybody ever bought from skyfish? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2019 12:13 PM PDT I was so excited when my first shrimp got berried (or second actually, first dropped all her eggs), I checked up on her everyday. She dropped half her eggs but kept the rest and had 11 beautiful babies. Then 3 more got berried and dropped none of the eggs and had too many to count amount of babies. The firstborns are teens now and the females already have eggs growing in their saddles. The adults are seemingly constantly berried. There's shrimplets of all sizes, all over everything. No matter where you look, the moss, the substrate, the rocks, shrimplets everywhere! I'm obviously thrilled they're so happy, but this is happening so fast! My tank is only 10g and I'm worried it'll be overstocked soon. Are there any tricks to get shrimp to... slow down on the breeding a little? Or is this where I have to get a second, "cull-tank" and start a shrimp-selling business? [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jun 2019 01:32 PM PDT I have a tank that i have a lot of problems with(a lot of dead shrimp without reasons gh5,kh0,ph6.5,tds 350us,nitrate-nitrite-amonia 0 ), then i want to restart it. How do you do it ? I planned to remove the soil, the filter sponge, clean the tank, qmd the moss with water and new soil ,a seeded sponge filter ,let it turn 1 week or 2 and it should be good no? What do you feed to your shrimp? Posted: 09 Jun 2019 04:34 PM PDT I love the pinned starters guide and I'm working on starting a tank. I see a lot of posts about feeding shrimp in trays and giving them snacks and that made me realize I have no idea what to feed them. So what do you feed them, why and how? [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jun 2019 11:10 AM PDT So I recently discovered the magical world of shrimp. And I'm obsessed. I currently have a 5.5 gallon planted tank for my betta, Magnus. He lives with a yin yang guppy, a few nerite snails, and 2 thicc whisker shrimp. I've decided that I've got the time, space, and resources to start a shrimp tank but I have no clue where to start. I do know that I want maybe another 5.5 planted for the shrimpies. But other than that, I've got nothing. I appreciate any tips or advice that anyone can give me. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jun 2019 12:15 PM PDT Hi all! Iv recently bought a 24 litre/5.28 gallon tank. I was planning on putting a betta or maybe some endlers in it but i also really like the idea of shrimp! I think id lile to do a betta and some shrimp( neocardinia) but im worried in case they get mistaken as a snack by my betta. Im also pretty open to a shrimp only tank. What do you guys think? Will some red cherries do okay in the tank if i give them hiding places from the betta? And how many can i keep in a tank that size alongside a betta? Thanks! [link] [comments]
