Posted: 10 Jun 2019 06:18 PM PDT Can't really get a good answer on this. Seams to be all over the place. I see others have a 400 gal pond with several fish while others have 1000+ for one koi. I got the pond fever and after spending some time at my local pond store (have a small goldfish/water garden now), I want to build myself a small-ish koi pond for a few small koi (3-4in). As much as I would love to build a 1500 gal pond, I think it would be a little too big for my yard, and would hate to spend money on my "dream pond" when I plan on moving within 5yrs or so. Would 500 gal let 3 small koi be happy for 5yrs until a bigger pond is built? I would like to have a super clean, good filtered, small pond then a large, poorly filtered pond. [link] [comments] | ||
Posted: 10 Jun 2019 12:59 PM PDT I bought a house with a Koi pond recently. I've been trying to get it healthy for the little cold blooded swimmers. I had it cleaned professionally last week but it is already full of algae. I have 4 air stones keeping the fish breathing well, but should I invest in a filter too? If so, what kind for an 80 gallon pond? [link] [comments] |
