Producing higher grade shrimp

Posted: 03 May 2019 09:03 PM PDT

Apologies if this has been answered before. When trying to produce higher grade shrimp is it the male or female being the higher grade that will yield better results? Eg I have some decent quality Bloody Mary males and was offered lesser grade females to re establish the colony, ideally I don't want to waste time if the quality will end just going backwards though. Tia.

How to get rid of floaters without taking out shrimplettes

Posted: 03 May 2019 03:33 PM PDT

I've got a bit of over grown Salvinia minima in my tank but there are so many tiny shrimp around that I'm scared to scoop it out without taking some of the shrimpletts with me. I've been taking some out and putting it in a tub with some of the tank water to look for the shrimplettes and I've saved a few but i feel like I'm still missing and killing them. What do?

Tips for starting a shrimp tank

Posted: 03 May 2019 07:13 PM PDT

I recently got super into fish and aquascaping and I have wanted to try my hand at a shrimp tank. I'm a complete beginner when it comes to shrimp so I'm happy to take any tips on keeping them. I was thinking of keeping ghost shrimp or cherry sense those are ones I have access to around where I live.

Dark or light substrate?

Posted: 03 May 2019 04:04 PM PDT

I will be getting a neocaridina shrimp tank with a viper shrimp and rabbit snails and I was curious if I should use something like fluval stratum or a fine, light, substrate?

Hikari Shrimp Cuisine for Amanos

Posted: 03 May 2019 02:39 PM PDT

I've owned red cherries for a while and I've always fed them Shrimp Cuisine with success. Recently, however I picked up a couple Amano shrimp for a 5g planted tank with a betta. Is the Shrimp Cuisine alright for them as well, or do I need to buy them some algae wafers?

What is this white thing on my shrimp? Is it a fail molt or some sort of parasite.
