How many red cherry shrimp could live in a 75 gallon tank?

Posted: 19 May 2019 02:51 PM PDT

I have a 75 gallon fish tank that is empty. I want to buy a filter, some plants, a light lid, and some shrimp and make that tank a big shrimp colony. How many shrimp could it hold?

Ideas for 5 Gallon Cherry Shrimp tank?

New tank. Soooo many possibilities. And already in love. Plants on order, and tank preseeded. This is going to be a fun one. I have an idea setched out, but we'll see where it goes. Thinking (sky or light) blue velvets for this one.

If you want Snowflake food for really cheap

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H422TV2

Snowflake food is just 100% soy bean hulls. So is this stuff.

So instead of paying $10 for like 100 grams pay $10 for 5 pounds(2200 grams)

Is substrate color important with shrimp tanks? Does it affect the shrimp?

Posted: 19 May 2019 12:20 PM PDT

Hello! I'm pretty new to the whole aquarium hobby, and I've decided to start with shrimp. I absolutely love the look of a light sand substrate, but I noticed that most shrimp tanks here feature dark substrate.

Is there a reason for this? Does the dark substrate enhance their colors? Is it just a personal matter? Thank you!!
