Crayfish Possible dying crayfish

Possible dying crayfish

We got our crayfish on a whim (truthfully it was bought as dinner, but my daughter liked one in particular so my wife gave it to her). Anyway she had it in this makeshift container that the crayfish got out. It was on the table and took a hard fall (I assume we later found her under the couch so I put her in a better container) that chipped her tail shell right off. (corner was broken off)

Anyway I got it a 10 gallon tank, and at night my daughter dumped half of the crab food (from pet store, crayfish eat it) bag into it and didnt tell me. The following morning the cray was really sluggish and the tank smelled bad. I took her out, cleaned out the tank and put her back in. She has since been extremely sluggish barely moving.

I will give her some time but I fear it will die. Any advice?

Tank mates

Hello y'all

I'm finally getting a Blue Crayfish, most likely the smallest I can find. Currently I'm cycling the tank and waiting for live plants to ship in (Anacharis, Hornwort, duckweed), and I was wondering what type of tank mates could I put with this guy? I was thinking tetras as they seem to be 'top fish' and theoretically shouldn't be picked off by the cray but idk if they go to the bottom when resting? I was hoping with time the plants would grow for everything to have a nice hiding place. But what do you guys think? What tank mates would be good and do you think the young/small cray would grow up peaceful with them?

Edit: how often should I feed the cray?
