Hey guys! So I’m curious, how many of you have more than one axie in a tank? I was told they could be cannibalistic and not to do that, but my Gilbert seems sad and I’m wondering if he could use a friend...

Tank filter question

Posted: 20 May 2019 10:49 AM PDT

My SO surprised me with Marvin for this last Christmas. I knew nothing about axolotls and it has been a crazy ride. Love this little guy. Anyone have experience mixing silicone and sand for a bottom?

Eating bubbles?

Posted: 19 May 2019 12:24 PM PDT

Today my little buddy Zetsu is (it appears) trying to eat the bubbles from the new air stone I put in yesterday. Occasionally he will basically lay right on top of it. I'm I correct in assuming he is playing and enjoying it? I got him as a gift 3 days ago by surprise and I'm trying to figure it all out very quickly. I love him already!!

Anyone have any experience with this Fluval 30 I’ve had it for about 5 months and I turned it off to do a water change and now it refuses to turn back on

How to get axie more active?

Posted: 19 May 2019 08:12 PM PDT

My axie is very healthy, he eats almost every night, and has perfect gills and shows no stress. He just sits there all day and I was wondering if there was anything I could do to stimulate him? Do your axies swim?

Advice for new owner?

Posted: 19 May 2019 02:30 PM PDT

Hi everyone, I'm interested in getting an Axolotl and was wondering about how much it costs for the axolotl and tank and everything, as well as how long they live, and how much maintenance they need? Also I've read some places that you can hold them and other places you can't, is it not really recommended? Just curious what some owners had to say, thanks everyone!

substrate for axolotl tank? ive heard of axolotls getting impactions from swallowing sand but would normal sand from petco cause an impaction? is their digestive system really that small?
