| What do I use to clip filter sponge to filter? Posted: 18 May 2019 09:20 AM PDT So my filter's current is just way too strong for my liking. I've heard of people clipping or putting filter sponge on the filter to disperse the flow. What can I use to clip it on with? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 17 May 2019 04:17 PM PDT Hey guys, I was wondering whether it's possible to keep one axolotl in a 20 gallon tall tank rather than long. I cannot fit a long but really want an axolotl. The width and length would be the same size as a 10 gallon but the top would be 2* tall to make it like a cube. I don't mind putting ledges and climbing stuff so it can count as extra floor space if that works. [link] [comments] | ||

| New axolotl not flicking gills Posted: 17 May 2019 12:48 PM PDT I just got my new leucistic juvenile axolotl yesterday. When I first got it. It moved its gills like every 5 seconds or so. Now it doesn't look like they're moving much at all. If you look closely sometimes you can see slight movement but not much. It moves and walks around just fine BTW. My dad also gave it a full earthworm while I was at school, so does overfeeding lead to that? Should I be worried? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 May 2019 12:04 PM PDT I'm hoping someone here can give me some advice on adding a filter to my axie tank. I've had this girl for going on a year and until now I've been making do with frequent water changes, but I feel like she will ultimately be happier with a filter. I have a hang on the back filter (Tetra Whisper 10) and I wedged something in front of it to minimize the flow, but she still seems extremely unhappy with it. Her gills turned forward immediately and she was frantically swimming into the edge of the tank. I unplugged it for now, but am wondering what I should do from here. Will she eventually adjust to the change and relax? Should I invest in something else like a sponge filter? (I'd rather not, a little tight on cash, but if it's what she needs...) Something else I didn't think of? Any help is greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] |
