Two shrimps were found dead lying on its side in my tank today I only had them for a day so far. What could be the problem?

Temp: 72F Ammonia-0 Nitrites-0 Nitrates-10 Gh-5 Kh-2 TDS-182

Also for water changes how often should I do them? I've heard 10% weekly to monthly and what's the max tds I should have to know when to do a water change? How much should tds should I get the new water to before adding it back into the tank? Please and thank you

When soaking Cholla wood, does it STINK TO HIGH HELL?!

I got Cholla wood 2 weeks ago this Sunday and it has been soaking since then in a tub. I have changed the water once last Sunday, but it smells SO FREAKING BAD, almost rancid.... Is this normal, or did I get a bad piece? It is a few pieces, ordered on Amazon.

How does breeding shrimp for color affect their quality of life?

Is the quality of life of dwarf shrimp bred to be specifically red, blue, etc. and small impacted in any way through the selective breeding? Or would wild type shrimp be larger and live longer/happier lives?
