What is the Actual Recommended Tank Size for a Single Axolotl?

Posted: 05 Apr 2019 02:01 PM PDT

I have a 15 Gallon tank (24x12x12 Inches). I am planning on getting an Axolotl within the next few months, but I'm having a hard time figuring out whether this tank will be big enough. I keep seeing a mixture of 10 Gallon as a minimum, and 20 Gallon as a minimum. I definitely do not want the little guy to be crammed into a space smaller than is comfortable.

Does a 15 Gallon tank work fine?

Tips on rehoming my babies ):

Posted: 05 Apr 2019 04:32 PM PDT

Hello! I am very sad to say that I must re-home my axolotls, Cosmo & Wanda, as my family and I are downsizing. During this long selling and moving process, we need everything to look perfect all the time, and the tank it simply too much upkeep for us at the time. I love Cosmo and Wanda very much, but it could be a while before we actually sell the house and move, and I do not want to put anymore stress on my family at this already stressful time.

I am creating this post as I am wondering if anyone has any tips on rehoming them, as I want them to go to a good home who knows how to take care of them, and will love them as much as I do. I do not want them to be neglected, and I want to make sure I sell them to someone who can be trusted. Either does anyone here want to buy them, or have any tips on how to find the right home?

HELP! BABIES BORN YESTERDAY AND BRINE SHRIMP ARENT HATCHING

Posted: 05 Apr 2019 04:24 PM PDT

Hey everyone! I had a little over 100 axolotl babies hatch between yesterday morning and this evening. I set up my brine shrimp hatchery as soon as I noticed the babies were coming, but I don't think my brine shrimp are hatching at all. I've called all of my Local pet stores to see if they had live baby brine shrimp I could feed them until I figure out what's going wrong with my hatchery and none of them did. Are there any alternatives besides micro worms and daphnia (as those would also require being ordered online and shipped) that could feed the babies right now until I can secure an alternative food source?

Forgot to turn tank filter back on.

Posted: 05 Apr 2019 05:44 PM PDT

Hey guys so I was with my girlfriend while she was feeding her axie about 7 hours ago and we turned the filter off while feeding him (Cthulhu), to not cause a mess. It being the college weekend we both went home after that and I'm pretty sure we forgot to turn it back on. I just realised this an hour ago and am very worried for him. I'm just over an hour a way from her college apartment and she's about 3 hours away, I've no way to get in to turn it back on. I was wondering if her Axie will be ok for about another 14 hours? aka by the time she wakes up and gets back to her aparatment to turn it back on.
