My axolotl wont eat. We got him today and tried to feed him in the bucket we got him in because he didnt eat since two days ago but he just spat it out, and now he just ignores it. Its been 4 hours since we got him and we are kind of concerned. We fed him worms btw

Sand for tank?

Posted: 09 Apr 2019 12:45 PM PDT

I have 2 full grown axies - about 6 years old. (I got them almost a year ago, and was told they were about 5 at the time, so I'm not firm on the age)

I'm wondering what types if sand i can use in their tank? Can i use pool filter sand? I've heard some folks use the Crayola colored play sand - is that usable?

I'm super limited in what i can get here.

I'm about to start keeping axolotls. What could you tell me more about them ? What do you preffer to feed them? How to you keep the temperature low ? What rocks should be used as substrate? ... Thanks to everyone who will help. :) P. S. I already read a lot about them on the internet, but it would be nice to know from someone who keeps them.
