Aquatic Koi What ate my koi? |
| Posted: 01 Apr 2019 04:20 AM PDT Hi everyone, first time poster. I like in mainland UK, Over the weekend our koi pond was used as a buffet table. Initially I thought the heron had got in and had lunch as I usually see them flying over head. We had half eaten fish all over the garden. Next to the pond one slab was covered in scales. I've ways been under the impression that a heron just swallows a fish whole? Some insight on any other animals that could have caused such carnage would be great on trying to stop it happening again. A friend said maybe an otter but we're not very close to any brook or water source . The biggest koi was 1 foot long . Which was left in the middle of the lawn with half of its side ripped off. Any insight and help would be great to try and stop it happening again. [link] [comments]  |
