- ID help? I bought my baby 2 years ago at petco in a tank of “shubunkin”, but he looks nothing like the shubunkin I see online. I can’t identify him. Just asking because he recently passed and I’d like to introduce another similar one into my pond. He grew to 13” before passing (bought at 4”).

I have a budget but I don't want to spend needlessly. With the same amount of budget should I: A: purchase two or three koi on the larger side B: Buy many smaller koi I'm concerned about the hardiness of smaller koi, but sometimes the difference in price between a 5" koi and an 8" koi is pretty steep.
