Am I better off taking a scoop of my local pond (dirt, plants, water) or treating it like a tank and hitting the LFS for plants and snails? Could a 2 litre sustain 3-5 ghost shrimp once the plants are established? Is there something smaller to consider that would be interesting to observe in the tank? The goal being to create an ecosystem that can support a few generations once balanced correctly.
