I live in southern Alabama/Mississippi area and after a fair amount of searching I couldn't find any commercial stores that sell them nearby. I feel hesitant about ordering one through mail but it seems I won't have another option given my location. Does anybody have any websites or breeders that they ordered from and recommend? I am looking for a melanoid (preferably a baby one if possible)! I'm starting to get my tank together and filtering water but I don't even know where I'm going to get the axolotl yet... anything would help!!! | Posted: 23 Mar 2019 05:03 PM PDT Hello everyone. I raised about 30 axolotls last year, and sold the largest ones first. I kept 3 of the smallest ones, thinking they are just slow growers. Now, they are over 1 year old and are still tiny! One is 4in and two are slightly over 5in. Should they continue to grow? I still love them regardless, but I'm worried they are going to look like juveniles their whole life. Their fingers are all turned black, also. So they are mature. However, I have seen various reports on what minimum tank size could do this and how much that would cost.
