Axolotl ate a pretty big leaf. What to do? Posted: 27 Mar 2019 03:04 PM PDT So, my female isn't very smart. I looked at the tank to see her munching away on a leaf of an el niño fern I have in there. I tried getting it away from her, but she swallowed it. I'm worried about it being too big for her to pass. Should I do anything or just wait it out? [link] [comments]

Can I start my nitrogen cycle without decorations? Posted: 27 Mar 2019 09:06 PM PDT I have the components to begin the chemical process of the nitrogen cycle for my tank (filter, conditioner, testing kit, etc.) but my tank is bare still. I won't be able to buy things like decorations and substrate (I'm going to cover the floor with either AstroTurf or slate tile), but can I still start the cycle? I'm worried that if I get the tank fully or partially cycled and THEN add decorations then it will cause my cycle progress to crash. It's a long process though, so I'd like to get it started asap... Is cooked chicken safe for axolotls? Posted: 27 Mar 2019 06:14 PM PDT I made some unseasoned chicken for dinner and have some leftovers. Would this be safe to feed to Sir Lazybottom? Im hoping to diversify his diet. He's been eating nothing but bloodworm (dried pellets and frozen cubes) since the new year and it's too cold to harvest earthworms yet. Has anyone tried this and, if so, how did your axie take to it? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Mar 2019 05:04 PM PDT I can't seem to get rid of it! Water changes solve the issue for a temporary amount of time but within a day it's back again, it doesn't seem harmful and the reading I've done says it's not but it looks horrible and I want to get rid of it. All parameters appear to be fine as does water temperature, axolotl herself also seems absolutely fine it's just this layer of white film that ruins my aquarium for me, does anyone know what's causing this and how to get rid of it if you've had a similar problem ? Anything's appreciated :) [link] [comments] |
