Axolotl - Aquariums - I’m still editing this, but I saw this phone case and I wasn’t happy how the colors were so I did my best to remake it to my liking.

i got my axolotl(juvenile, abt three inches long) a few days ago and his poop is coming out as black worms? he's still eating but I'm worried that he's not fully digesting his food. I feed him half a cube in the morning and half a cube at night (he never eats the whole thing) isothere anything i can do for him?

Question about Tubbing

Posted: 23 Mar 2019 08:16 AM PDT

I was going to put my Axolotl in a tub while I moved their tank to the basement but the only tub I have is one that we kept our shampoo in for a few weeks a while ago. I know soap is bad for Axolotls skin so I want to know what I would have to do to clean the tub first.

Advice for Lowering pH

Posted: 22 Mar 2019 10:22 PM PDT

Hello! I'm a soon-to-be axolotl owner. I'm actually about to cycle my tank hopefully starting this weekend. Might be delayed depending on certain factors.

Out of curiosity I was testing my tap water's pH which if I read correctly was around 8.4 even though our city's website claims it falls between 9.6-9.8. Either way this is a bit higher than the ideal that I've been reading up on.

Our water is said to come from wells located along the banks of a river and is described as moderately hard on the water department's website.

Any recommendations for lowering pH? A few websites I read said to use chemicals as a last resort and I wanted to see if any of you axolotl owners have been down this path with advice for a total newbie. Any help is much appreciated!!

Axoltol Enrichment Ideas?

Posted: 22 Mar 2019 12:08 PM PDT

My lotl is a very active boy. I was wondering if anyone has ideas to make sure he doesn't get bored. I know feeding habits can be changed up but any other ideas?
