Quiet air pump for 20 gal sponge filter? Posted: 11 Feb 2019 10:30 PM PST Whats a quiet, yet strong air pump for my 20 long with a sponge filter? Also do I need any valves to adjust the flow, or a check valve or anything? [link] [comments]

Posted: 11 Feb 2019 08:08 PM PST Then today I walked into a LFS just to take a look, and noticed that thy had RCS, which is what I want to get. I noticed that they were using an underground filter in the tank, with 2 sponge filters just stuck in the gravel with no air going through them. This group came to mind as I have found wonderful information in here. I have only read people saying that they use sponge filters which are attached to air lines. Since I have learned so much great information from this group, I was wonder if using a set-up like the LFS would be ok yo use at home when I finally get the tank set-up? [link] [comments]
Posted: 11 Feb 2019 07:44 PM PST I started with 20 ghost shrimp two weeks ago. Those that weren't eaten or taken by stress have slowly but steadily died off. Today I am down to two survivors, having found a third barely alive near the filter intake but unable to move its legs. The previous 10 or so have all shown a rapid necrosis that killed them in a day. My ammonia is 0, pH is 7.5, nitrites/nitrates are 0. Water is 80F. They get 10 hours of light, and have lots of plants to hide under. Is there anything I can do for these two still hanging on? [link] [comments] |
