Fluval Flex 34L Day 11 update album Posted: 05 Feb 2019 03:18 AM PST https://imgur.com/a/kQ1yMDp <- Album here Hope it's not too soon to post a tank update! I had a request on my Day 1 post. Thank you to everyone who took the time to help with my dwarf hairgrass issue and/or gave compliments! I have reclaimed some sand substrate from my 240L when it was rescaped last summer. I spent a day and a bit boiling it and rinsing it. Drained 25% of the tank down the sink, 50% just barely fit a bucket, and the sand was sitting in my 8L stock pot that's used only for aquarium water and boiling bog wood. That 25% remaining really helped with arranging the sand. I sloped the sand up toward the front as the internal filter inlet bottom back left was a worry to me. I didn't want to block it up. Once I'd gotten the sand to my liking, I drained the last 25% down to the substrate to get rid of the cloud the sand gave off. I refilled into the back where the integral filter is. I'm eager to check it every morning, and was happy to see new growth and roots by Day 9. The spider wood, despite 2 x 1 hours boiling in an 8 litre stock pot has begun leeching sugars out, along with that nasty growth of white fuzz. I cleaned that off in a bucket of tank water during a 25% water change on day 9, but it's reappearing. I'm sure it will clear up once the wood ages a bit more. https://www.reddit.com/r/nanotank/comments/ak4cue/fluval_flex_34l_with_microsorum_pteropus_windelov/ <- Original post [link] [comments] | ||
