Goldfish Can Barely Swim

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:16 PM PST

Hey everyone! I'm new to this sub.

I feel like I do everything right with my tank. I change the water every two weeks I have a filter with aeration.

However I have this one fish who can barely swim. She just rests at the bottom of the tank sideways and swims up only for some food. I thought it was a swim bladder disorder but she swims just fine and moved around the tank. An hour or two later I see she's moved to the other side of the aquarium. So what's wrong with her? I don't know what to do. I've tried peas I've tried quarantining her in warmer water. Is she just lazy?

Advice on moving with goldfish?

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 12:34 PM PST

I will be moving in June to Texas, from Ohio. I have one goldfish in a 50 gallon tank. How should I transport my baby? Obviously I want to make sure he stays safe and healthy even though this might be pretty stressful for him. Any advice would be really great.

What’s the minimum tank I need to keep shubunkin goldfish?

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:03 PM PST

I want to own a shubunkin goldfish one day because I think they're absolutely stunning creatures. I own a betta fish right now so I wouldn't call myself inexperienced with setting up aquariums either, but I'm also aware that they could be quite different to look after. What's the ideal tank and props I should buy?

I appreciate your help

Goldfish fine one minute, but will then dart around the tank erratically before calming down again. What’s wrong??

How to clean wood and a rock for my tank?

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 01:35 PM PST

My husband found a cool piece of wood in our yard that's heavy and feels like stone. It feels like driftwood even though we live far from any creeks. He also found a cool medium size rock and he wants to clean both for our goldfish tank. How would I go about cleaning and making them safe for our little Meeko?

Planning my first goldfish tank

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 08:04 AM PST

I have had ponds in the past but this will be my first goldfish tank. 55 gallons, planted. My thoughts are 3-4 fancy gold fish, an African dwarf frog (are they okay as singles), a few cherry shrimp, 2 nerita snails. I'm so excited, I had to give up my Koi and Shubunkin when I moved east and I miss not having fish.

What is your wisdom?
