Is my Axolotl male or female? I think it’s a few months old now so maybe it’s way to young to see?

All of these rocks were tumbled by my dad. Smooth for Marvin. I can’t wait to introduce him to his new home! Thought you might enjoy.

I'm going to adopt my first axolotl in a few days and I am very excited! I've been wanting one of these bad boys for a while; I got a 20gal (75 liter) tank and I'll be getting some PVC pipes to work as caves for him/her tomorrow.

The tank I got did come with a bubble though; I've heard that the movement of the water can stress axolotls out, and the excess oxygen might cause the gill feathers to stop growing, but I do see a lot of axolotl owners use bubblers with sponges to slow the airflow down and help bacteria grow. Should I try the air bubbler a few days/weeks after the axolotl settles in, or leave it out altogether? I do have another 10gal with some more active fish, should I save the bubbler for that tank instead?

What are the requirements of a good axolotl pellet?

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 04:27 PM PST

Looking for pellets that are possibly available in nearby pet stores (Canada). What are the nutritional requirements? Ingredients that are encouraged versus discouraged?

Any advice/tips/tricks on starting an indoor worm bin?

Posted: 04 Feb 2019 03:32 PM PST

I'm tired of spending $5 every week for a 12 pack of worms. What are some cheap ways of creating a worm box for nightcrawlers? Thanks!
