| Posted: 05 Jun 2021 11:31 PM PDT My goldfish have been getting dropsy-like symptoms one after the other. Lethargy, swelling, pineconing, dead. I did a big tank clean with the hopes of it disappearing. Have treated for bacterial and parasite multiple times. Still in the tank. Help me, what do I do?? Have lost 8 fish so far. Ammonia is .25, have been struggling with it since the bacterial treatment. The local fish store said it could be fro. Oh swinging, but I always treat with a ph additive. They gave me some sand to increase kh and now ph is around 8. Need help, have tried seemingly everything. Is it time to reset? [link] [comments] | ||

| Goldfish died after water change. Please help. Posted: 05 Jun 2021 12:28 PM PDT I have a 135 gallon tank with two fantails, two orandas, one tosakin, one small ranchu, & one pompom. They have been thriving for years, yesterday me & my mom did a water change & they were a bit stressed afterwards, they usually do so ww just turned off their aquarium lights & went to bed. The next morning my mom finds the tosakin, one oranda, & a fantail dead. They all look very stressed but I'm afraid if I did something wrong. We took out a little over half because the water was kind of dirty, & I put: Dechlorinator, Lice & ringworm removal, & aquarium salt. We also cleaned the canister filter(Fluval 406) aswell. Could it have been that i put too much of something? The dechlorinator we have is a bit strong so we usually measure but throwing in a bit on each side. It's always worked. Did i put too much of the ringworm & fish life liquid? Maybe. I have no idea. I'm going out to buy pH strips hoping it will help me. [link] [comments] | ||

| Help with my goldfish teenager... Posted: 05 Jun 2021 04:32 AM PDT I have a 14-year-old goldfish that I'm pretty attached to... this morning I was cleaning the tank and noticed a mm-sized white spot in his eye, with a few-mm-long streamer coming out of the eye. There are similar small (few-mm-long) white streamers all over the tank. Almost look like tiny pieces of plastic... The eye looks collapsed (i.e. not nice and semi-spherical anymore). The other eye looks more or less ok (maybe a bit cloudy?). He also has reddening (some area really dark) around the gills. I notice some white flecks at the very tips of his fins. The weather here has gotten a bit warmer, so I'm using a fan to cool the tank. The tank has remained cool (about 70) but perhaps may be fluctuating a bit more than usual due to the cooling system I'm using. Is this Ich? Something else? Would greatly appreciate advice on what this is and how to best treat it. Edit: Forgot to mention, he seems to be off his food. [link] [comments] | ||

| Duckweed causing bloat/ swim bladder issues? Posted: 05 Jun 2021 09:02 AM PDT I have a 60 gallon indoor container pond with duckweed and I woke up to one of my fancies swimming sluggishly upside down and sideways. The duckweed has been in there since before the fish were added. They've been in with it for over a month and no issues occurred. The others look normal and he was okay last night. Should I remove the duckweed? I already feed them sinking pellets but I imagine they graze on the duckweed as they please. Sidenote: pond is cycled, water parameters are stable, nitrates always kept in check and water changes are done weekly to bi-weekly. It's also planted and has pothos and bamboo sticking out. Filter is rated for 75 gals and they have an airstone as well. The fish were all quarantined before being added. [link] [comments] |
