Rehoming my axolotl

Rehoming my axolotl

Hello! I'm looking to rehome my golden albino axolotl (gender undetermined). Due to some external challenges this year I've been finding it difficult to care for them, but I know that they deserve 100% effort from somebody. There won't be any rehoming fee, just assurance that they'll be well taken care of and loved. They're a good eater and eat two frozen bloodworm cubes every day. I live in South Florida and would prefer a local exchange so that they wouldn't have to be shipped. Pm if you are interested.

Some one please help, this happened almost overnight. Gills were all fine then all of a sudden two of them were shrivelled and brown and the stairs had a white spot on it. This morning she looked like this and is bleeding. I’m scared that if this is an infection it will spread to the other side

I'm curious, does anyone else have an axi that's scared of food?

Posted: 05 Jun 2021 11:28 AM PDT

Hi all :D

I have 3 juvenile axis, the one in question, Toothless, is terrified of food.

They started on shrimp, and loved those. I introduced bloodworm but they wouldn't eat those so I returned to shrimp.

I started to introduce earthworms, and the other 2 took to them fine, but it took a good week or two until Toothless wouldn't run away from them. (They eat them fine now.)

Today I introduced pellets to vary their diet, and also because Toothless especially is a bit skinny. Flump and Takuwan think the pellets are great, Toothless runs away from them! I'm hoping it's just their personality and they'll start eating them soon.

Has anyone else experienced this? I guess they're Toothless by name and by nature xD

Can Axolotls be picky eaters?

Posted: 05 Jun 2021 01:18 PM PDT

I recently got two Axolotls. They're both a couple months old, about 3 inches in length. One of them happily devours the red wrigglers I cut up for it. The other one refuses. I thought he might be sick or something, but I went to the store and got some frozen brine shrimp. He happily eats the shrimp but still refuses the worms. It's a pain because I have to catch him and put him in a separate tank to feed him because the shrimp breaks up and gets EVERYWHERE. Is he just a picky eater? What other options do I have?

How many other fish can I put in my 20g?

Posted: 05 Jun 2021 05:41 PM PDT

So I'm wanting to get 2 axolotls for a 20g long I have, I was curios if I could put any other fish into the tank? If so what the most variety that I could have as well? I'm wanting the tank to be as lively and inverse as possible, I plan to make the tank a bio active self cleaning as well
