Is the clearer looking one, a wild neo? Or just a colorless one? Just got into the tanks after reading that they are easy to care for at least the neo variant.

What are these small creatures?

My shrimp from Aqua Huna arrived safe and sound. Got them acclimated and dumped in. They're grubbing down on the algae growth. They looked stoked to be out of that bag after 3 days in transit.

Questions on amano breeding

Posted: 25 Sep 2020 10:56 PM PDT

I've been doing research on breeding amanos but I got a few things that I wasn't sure about.

  1. I see people saying they use instant ocean salt, but I see two of them and idk the differences. Is the "reef crystal reef salt" different than the "sea salt"? Does one have nutrients that might be too much for the amanos and the other one is pure salt?

  2. Should the larvae be kept in the same parameters as their adult forms or do the babies not care?

  3. How long do the phytoplankton last? I doubt I can finish an entire bottle in one go and will try to save most of it for future attempts. I was thinking of using Mercer of Montana, has anyone used this and does it last a long time?

  4. Would a 1 gal container be enough for the process?

  5. Any tips on successfully have them survive to adult form?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)
