JBJ 45 Wobbling

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 09:26 PM PDT

I have a JBJ 45 In an upstairs bedroom. I've noticed before that it wobbles a little bit when the stand door is opened. However, what really gave me a heart attack, was watching my golden doodle scratch herself near the tank and it wobble significantly more. No water spilled out, but it was clear so. Is this normal or a red alarm to move the tank?

It's against a load bearing wall but parallel to the joists. My house was built in 1993. I'll be purchasing a leveling device tomorrow to see if the floor is level or not.

Are my bubble tips dying? Ya my first time owning them and I’m worried, they look deflated and are not opening completely.

Is there an app or website for hobbyists to sell frags to other hobbyists? I found an app called CoralReefMKT but I haven’t had luck getting people to respond to me on it

First saltwater tank

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 03:48 PM PDT

Hey all, starting my first saltwater tank, I currently have 15 freshwater, but am a complete noob when it comes to this. I'm going to convert a 60L tank with a 20L tank as the sump. I want to be able to catch wildlife myself as a hobby and would appreciate any beginner advice! Side question, what do I need to do with a wild caught crab? Will it have worms/parasites? And does it need room to leave the water? Thank you

Beginner corals for tank?

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 01:16 PM PDT

Anyone have experiences with a sumpless 40 breeder? Lps mainly.

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 04:55 PM PDT

I was planning on doing a sumpless 40 breeder. Was thinking 2 50g Aquaclear filters since they're very easy to add your carb and floss and other things. Is there any good hang on back skimmers if I ever need one? I have a 20g aio I been running with no skimmer for a while now and have never had an issue

70 gallon tank start up

Posted: 24 Sep 2020 04:52 PM PDT

So I am starting my 70 gallon reef and has a question about substrate. I have been reading that about 90lbs of substrate for a 70 gallon tank. However, I have seen some tanks with no substrate. I split the difference and put 40lbs in so basically about an inch of sand. Is there any sort of issues with this?
