My goldfish waiting for tank to settle after a water change: black moor (Gigante-lg) & Fan tailed (Toast-sm)

This derp sleeping upside down and then refusing to come out. I was convinced she was dead or very sick. I have been monitoring her closely for 3 days and she is showing no symptoms and being her usual self. Just wanted to give me a mini heart attack...

Accidentally tipped some of the big fish food into the breeding box I’m growing out two fry. One of them was making the most of it

I rescued 8 goldfish today from a stale dirty pond

I posted the other day asking if this looked like fin rot. I was able to get a better image and I feel like it might be getting a little worse (not that much worse tho, just some of the “”strings”” are falling off) is this fin rot or is this normal.

Can a Black Moor turn white?

Posted: 25 Sep 2020 04:51 PM PDT

I'll make it short but sweet, I've had 2 black moors since February and one was starting to turn gold, which I hear is normal. But the more I look at her, it looks like the gold parts are turning white, especially around her mouth. Is that possible?

Could anyone help me identify the mass that is on my goldfish?

Hello friends! I'm new to this subreddit but I am very happy to find you! I'm not sure what kind of goldfish this one is, but I got them from Petsmart. Over the last couple of weeks, I've noticed a strange yellow/translucent ball growing where the two tails meet. It doesn't seem to be attached to the body, but the tails themselves. They are acting normal and swimming just fine though. Has anyone else encountered this before?

It's a 75 gal tank with 5 goldfish, some cories, and one algae eater. Water is changed maybe 20% once a month. The water is currently at half because we are moving in the next couple of days. Ammonia is .5, which is probably because we disconnected the main filter temporarily, the nitrate is between 5-10, and the nitrite is 0. The temperature is 76° F and there is no salt in the system.

Help please! New tank

Posted: 25 Sep 2020 12:20 PM PDT

Hi there,

I have two goldfish, about 17 years old. I got them as a boy and had not given anything much thought. Recently one of them got dropsy and I realised that I have not been caring for them well enough at all.

So, now I have got them a new, bigger tank. There has been water in it for 48-72 hours and I have put in Tetra Aqua Safe and Safe Start Bacteria 48-72 hours ago.

My fish are currently in their original tank. Is it ok for me to transfer them over now? I was thinking of adding the water from their old tank into the new (and vice versa) initially, leaving it for an hour or so and then going for the full switch. I will then test the water every 12hrs over the weekend and regularly after that.

Does this sound good / safe? I do not want to harm my little friends. I am an inexperienced fish keeper, as like I said, before I was an idiot who didn't think of their welfare nearly enough.

Any advice is helpful!

Thank you

Made a post a week ago about wen growth white spots on Ranchu. This white spot on his head hasn't really gone away. He looks tore up because I believe he got caught on something in the tank trying to get an algae wafer. I'm referring to the spot right near where his head ends! Any suggestions?

Does anyone know what this is on my Blackmoor? Only recently noticed few days ago. Is it a scratch or lost scale? Sorry for bad picture quality, thanks for help in advance :)
