Update after the sand disaster! I removed the live sea sand that my cousin dumped in and replaced it with super naturals. I also maintained my filter and whipped everything down. Thank you so much to everyone who gave me useful feedback.

Companion fish for goldies

Posted: 16 May 2020 11:11 PM PDT

So question. I have a 7yr old comet and a 3yr old fantail cruising around. Decided for interest to add some more fish. Add 12 White Cloud Mountain Minnows. Bad mistake. Comet nailed then all bar one (who we have named highlander) in the coarse of two weeks.... Can anyone suggest any other cold water species that are Goldie compatible, small'ish but not swallowable?

Is he/she okay? It’s been swimming upside down all day but it is not dead as it has constantly been moving but upside down. I got it 2 years ago and it is a lionhead.

Using my two goldies to clean off the other floaters from duckweed. Some may not survive, but at least I won’t have duckweed in the new tank.

alternatives to kanaples/metroplex

Posted: 16 May 2020 12:00 PM PDT

I live in spain, and i'm struggling to find kanaplex or metroplex to treat my goldfish. He's showing early sings of dropsy and i only have espom salt to my reach; somehow they don't sell anywhere those seachem medications! I was planning on doing a treatment with both kanaplex and metroplex to cure him.

If any of you know any alternatives?

edit: I MESSED UP THE TITLE smh

Fantail Goldfish will only eat peas?

Posted: 16 May 2020 07:56 AM PDT

I have a Fantail Goldfish that will only eat peas after not eating for a couple of weeks. He completely stopped eating after using Tetra cleaning bacteria(his tank mate also stopped eating, but sadly laid on his side not long after and eventually died, I tried hand feeding but he just spit it out and ordered anti-bacterial medicine on Amazon but never got a chance to use it as my local post office lost the package), he's finally starting to eat, but will only eat peas and when he does eat peas, he chews on it, than spits most of it back out, he repeats this till the pea is eventually gone. I know he's eating the peas as he's pooping light/bright green and I've checked his mouth, as far as I could see their nothing stuck in his mouth/throat. He's currently in a 10 gallon quarantine tank and just started getting treated Imagitarium Bacteria Remedy I picked up at my not so local Petco yesterday. Soon as I seen the fish weren't eating, I did a complete water change to get rid of the tetra cleaning bacteria.

Is green water harmful?

Posted: 16 May 2020 03:49 AM PDT

Hi, back here to ask info, I made a mistake not changing coal in my filter for a while and it caused my water to become very green, Since I don't wanna use chemicals, do I keep doing water changes?

Edit: grammar
